Alef: Symbolisms and Meaning for the Messianic Community.

BSTHebrew Fonts are needed to see these Hebrew characters properly

Nearly every letter in the Hebrew B-a (alef-bet) has significance and symbolism marking the great truths of our Creator.  For the purposes of this article I will demonstrate the connection between the various names of the ALMIGHTY to the  a. The a consist of three separate letters, that of two Y and one w, in a slanted position. Each Hebrew letter has a numeric value, with a being 1 and a value given to each letter thereafter.  The numerical value of the letters (two Y and one w) comprising a, we find the value to be 26.  This value is also the same numeric value of the Kadosh Name, hwhy. This is very interesting because the a, is considered by the Jewish sages to be the Master of all the other letters and is made in the image of hwhy Himself. The a is a father of 21 children (the rest of the letters) and if the second letter is added to the a, we have a b, which together makes "ba," meaning ancestor or father.  And so the a is paralleled here to the ba in heaven. . a also demonstrates the same three in One principle that hwhy embodies. It says in Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: hwhy our myhloa is one la: "  We know that hwhy is One, but this Oneness is a compound unity, that of the Father, the Son, and the Ruach Ha Kodesh/Holy Spirit.  And so is the a, three letters that comprise one. Another interesting thing about the a is that if a person were to start at the beginning of the bible, Genesis 1:1 and count in 26 letters, you end up with the letter a. Also, if we take the shortened form of hwhy, which is Yah ( hy) we get the numerical value fifteen. If you count from the beginning of the bible 15 letters, you get a. Also, if you take other names for hwhy, such as la and myhloa both names starting with a, you get the numerical values thirty one and eighty six respectively.  Once again, counting from the beginning of the bible, thirty one and eighty six, you will end up on an a. These are the other titles by which hwhy is known, of which he is most known as a Father. Since the word for Father is ba, the numerical value for this is three, and if we count from Genesis 1:1 in three letters, from right to left, we get the letter a.  If we look at Bereshite/Genesis chapter 1 verses 1-5 we can verify these counts.

Out of the five names for the Almighty, every one has s numerical value that ends with an a when one counts from the beginning of the Torah. To make this clearer, there is a chart below -

hy Yah 10+5=15 The 15th letter of the Torah is a

ba Av 1+2=3 The 3rd letter of the Torah is a

~yhla Elohim 1+30+5+10+40=86 The 86th letter of the Torah is a

la El 1+30=31 The 31st letter of the Torah is a

hwhy YHWH 10+5+6+5=26 The 26th letter of the Torah is a

While it may be true that the other Names of the Almighty do not result in the numerical values that equal to a, there is plenty of other correlations that will delight the earnest seeker of scripture. For example, if we take the names Adonai ynda and the Phrase "I am that I am," taken from Exodus 3:14, we find that the term ynda is equal in numerical value to 65.

If we count 65 letters from the beginning of the scripture, Genesis Chapter 1, we will end up on the letter Yod/ y.  Now as to the value of the phrase from Exodus 3:14, "I am that I am," hyha rva hyha" (ey'yah asher ey'yah) there is an accumulative value of 543 of which amazingly, the h is the 543rd letter in the text, from the beginning. So we end up with two letters, the first being y and the second being h. Putting these two together, we get the very Name of the Almighty, in shortened form: Yah/ hy. We find this shortened form in a variety of references including but not limited to Ps: 68:4 Sing unto YHWH, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name YAH (Hy), and rejoice before him.  The shortened form of the Kadosh Name, namely Yah hy is completed with the addition of a Vav w and a Hey h. The entire full Name being hwhy. This is an interesting discovery, because you have half the Kadosh Name numerically valued in the Names Adonai and Yah, and the other half is in the Name Mashiach Yahshua.  Mashiach, or xyvm carries the numerical value of 358 while Yahshua [wvy counts out to the number 386.  Counting into the text of Bereshite/Genesis 1:1 onward to the 358th letter, we get a Vav w and if we count in to the 386th letter, we get the letter Hey h. So in total, we end up with a Yod for Adonai, a Hey for the "I am that I am," hyha rva hyha" (ey'yah asher ey'yah), a vav for the Name Mashiach, and a final Hey for the Name Yahshua.  In the chart below, we can see this more clearly.

Adonai  ynda = 65. The 65th letter in the text is y
