STUDIES IN APRIL 07!
Yom Shabbat April 28th Location outside Jackson from 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 29 Acharei Mot/Kedoshim “After the death” Leviticus 16:1–20:27 Judges/Shophtim 13, Mark 10 We read Parsha 29 The first topic was about the Azazel. Many even in Hebraic Roots teach the it represented Yahushua, along with the Atonement goat. This is in conflict with the fact that the Azazel goat was taken out into the wilderness after all the peoples' sins were laid upon it. This is a better picture of ha s.a.tan, who in the day of judgment, will have the sins of the olam laid upon him, and he will be cast into the lake of fire; his own wilderness. This is a very interesting concept, inasmuch as this was worldwides' take on the Azazel as well. I really have never been convinced that there was a tie between Azazel and HaMoshiach. Another question raised was what happened to the High Priest's garments after he removed them. Surely, there would be bloodstains at some point in time. Yet there is no teaching concerning the cleaning of them. Chap. 18:14 In this verse we see the addition of the words "do not approach", concerning incest. This was never mentioned in any other verse. No conclusion. Chpt. 19:19 As usual there was much discussion over the mixing of fabrics. One outstanding comment concerns the fact that they are not washed the same. Another comment was that the pagans somehow adulterated their linen, and perhaps this was the 'linen' being referred to. Bro. David brought up the fact that the Strong's word used here. is not used anywhere else in Scriptures to describe linen. Chap. 20 The conclusion is that the society of that time needed these laws to protect them from the uncleanness of the nations around them. Judges 13 The question was asked about why did Manoach's wife have to be told "not to eat any unclean thing"? The answer appears to be found in verse 1; because Israel had become evil once again. Verse 23 "Dayenu" YHWH has showed us His Plan, ( and so much more) and that would have been enough. Mark 10 Moshe translate this word as rope, even though by his own admission, it can mean camel. Why? Verse 46 Bar = son Timai = ceremonial uncleanness. (notes courtesy of brother James)
Yom Shabbat April 28th Location Waterloo Iowa from 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 29 Acharei Mot/Kedoshim “After the death” Leviticus 16:1–20:27 Judges/Shophtim 13, Mark 10 Excellent Parsha with several things that we can be mindful of today, most specifically, the command that the Israelites were not to take their sacrifices anywhere BUT the Tabernacle door to the Levitical priests, the only ordained priests to carefully sacrifice the animals in the way Moses prescribed. This can be allegorized to the faith walk of those who decide to do things themselves, or to go through the actual door, and follow Yahshua the Messiah, who Himself said that He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man cometh unto the father but through Him. YHWH does things a certain way and expects His servants to follow his Ways, not their own.
Yom Shabbat April 21st Location Jackson from 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 27 Tazria/Metzora “Conceived” April 21, 2007 3 Iyyar 5767 Leviticus 12:1–15:33, Parsha 28 Judges/Shophtim 12, Mark 9 - This Shul was excellent and full of fellowship as nearly everyone made it. An authentic Torah Scroll was looked over and set into an ark for display. The Parshas were read, as usual, ten sentences apiece, around the room each person having a chance to read from the Torah as per Moshe's instructions that the commonwealth of Israel learn the Torah corporately. The substance of the Parsha was discussed on various levels, including but not limited to the Torah of Leprosy, with questions as to why the disease was so prominent, and where it originated, and whether there were geographical implications. Several other Torah dealt with the leprosy that spread to clothing, and even mold in dwellings and how these were handled as well as the Torah that dealt with anything that might have gotten onto clay pots or wooden pots etc, the cleansing procedures, or destruction as the case may be. The curious statement about how the priest is to touch the right thumb, inner lobe of the right ear, and the right toe when proceeding with the ritual of the sacrifices, was discussed in some detail. Some discussions on why the Leper was commanded to have a cloth on the upper lip aside from the command to announce he or she was unclean.

Yom Shabbat April 14nth Location outside Hillsdale, from 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 26 Shemini “Eighth” April 14, 2007 26 Nisan 5767 Leviticus 9:1–11:47 Judges/Shophtim 11, Mark 8 Excellent Shul with many in attendance. The Parsha was the portion in Leviticus that spoke of the clean and unclean animals that YHWH desires the renewed covenant assembly of Israel to know about. Some discussions on the deaths of two of Aaron's sons who brought as it says "strange fire" before YHWH. Some of the discussions about the unclean animal that falls on the pottery pots and kiln, and how these must be broken down , do not necessarily reflect on iron pots and pans, as shown by the instructions given in regards the wooden container. Warm fellowship and a meal ensued.
Yom Rishon, April 8th end of unleavened bread Miqra Kodesh Excellent discussions and fellowship as several of the brethren that came to the initial Passover were present. Two fellows from http://www.bethashem.org/ were present and they performed some musical pieces. Upon discussing with them their various doctrinal positions, it became clear that they held some deeply esoteric and kabalistic views, even calling into question in the minds of some of the brethren that deity of Yahshua and his coming in the "flesh." The rest of the time was spent in prayer and in Midrash as we enjoyed the last moments of the high Shabbat.
