We
have seen again in Numbers 20 how the Israelites could not help but to murmur
and complain directly to Moses. Regarding
complaining:
29 Let no harmful language come from your mouth, only good words
that are helpful in meeting the need, words that will benefit those who hear
them. 30 Don't cause
grief to God's Ruach HaKodesh (holy spirit), for he has stamped you as his
property until the day of final redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, violent
assertiveness and slander, along with all spitefulness. 32 Instead,
be kind to each other, tenderhearted; and forgive each other, just as in the
Messiah God has also forgiven you. (Ephesians 4)
18 Having made his decision,
he gave birth to us through a Word that can be relied upon, in order that we
should be a kind of firstfruits of all that he created. 19 Therefore,
my dear brothers, let every person be quick to listen but slow to speak, slow to
get angry; (James 1)
From Emet Ministries –
“It is the little things in life that often lead to murmuring…traffic
jams, screaming kids, slow internet, old manna, and little water don’t really
matter. Before you fuss, think
about the subject of your mouth. Are
you really making a point about your objections or are you just barking about
wants, desires, and stuff?”
9 So let us not grow weary of doing what is good; for if we
don't give up, we will in due time reap the harvest. 10 Therefore, as the opportunity arises, let us do what
is good to everyone, and especially to the family of believers. (Galatians 6)
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so
that you may be blameless and pure children of God, without defect in the midst
of a twisted and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the
sky, (Philippians 2)
Blood and ashes, foreshadows of Messiah:
12 he entered the Holiest Place once and for all. And he entered
not by means of the blood of goats and calves, but by means of his own blood,
thus setting people free forever. 13 For if sprinkling ceremonially unclean persons with
the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer restores their outward
purity; 14 then how
much more the blood of the Messiah, who, through the eternal Spirit, offered
himself to God as a sacrifice without blemish, will purify our conscience from
works that lead to death, so that we can serve the living God! (Hebrews 9)
14 Just
as Moshe lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted
up; 15 so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life.
(John 3)
