Yom Shabbat December 15th, Location Michigan, Brother James and Sister Marciyah's home 1:00-5:00pm - Parsha 11 Vayigash “And came near” December 15, 2007 6 Tevet 5768 Genesis 44:18–47:27 Alef Shmuel/1st Samuel 23, Luke 24 (final chapter) 12-15-07 Parsha 11 Ber. 44:18-47:? As we begin this section, we see Yoseph is now addressing his brothers in Hebrew, having formally been communicating through an interpreter. It is obvious here that Yoseph has revealed himself to his brothers, (The Scroll of Yasher indicated that he actually revealed himself to Binyamin his brother prior to the departure back to Yisrael their father, and their return as theives. Many things about Yoseph are a foreshadow of Yahushua; he saved his people from death; he was a wise and fair ruler; he understood and obediently followed the Will of Abba YHWH. According to the Chumash/ and Yasher; Serach The daughter of ?Reuven?, was sent into the presence of Yaacov to sing and play the harp; pronouncing that Yoseph was still alive and was a ruler in Egypt. Binyamin is often depicted by 'Christian teachers' as a young man, barely above a child; yet here we see that he has 10 sons. 46:10 Who is this cannanite woman? Again the Chumash and Yasher seem to indicate that this was noe other then Dinah, who was now considered a cannanite woman after her being raped by Shechem. Chapter 47 sounds like the beginning of big government, with the rulers taking everything from the populace, though the 1/5 tax is still much more lenient then that imposed by many rulers during the 'Dark Ages' who sometimes taxed their people with as much as 75-80% taxes. I Schmuel 23: We are presented here with a picture of Eretz Yisrael as a very pleasantly wooded land, contrasted with the Israel we see today, where the fertility of the land is most obvious in those places where extensive irrigation is incorporated. Recalling back to the time of Abraham and Lots' separating ways, we notice that the plain of Sodom was quite fertile and very desirable. Possibly the destruction of Eretz Yisrael by invading armies is the reason for this. Lukas 24: Some consternation over the translation of this section, as it sounds as if the women have come to the tomb on the Shabbat. (notes courtesy of bro. James)
Yom Shabbat December 8th, Location Michigan, Dr Richard and Janice Clore's Home 1:00-5:00pm - Parsha 10 Miketz “At the end” December 8, 2007 28 Kislev 5768 Genesis 41:1–44:17 Alef Shmuel/1st Samuel 22, Luke 23 12-8-07 Parsha 10 Ber. 40:1-44:17 42:37 One must wonder just how comfortable the son's of Reuven would have been with their father's pledge of their lives for the life of Binyamin? 43:43 As we read this chapter we note that throughout the Patriach's name is Yaacov, but in this last verses we see him now refered to as Yisrael. Could it be due to the carnel nature being displayed by Yaacov in his lack of faith in YHWH to fulfill His Promises, and finally when he submits to allowing Binyamin to go to Egypt, that he is now allowing Yah's will to be accomplished? 43:21 Is somewhat a puzzelment, as it states here that the son's of Yaacov did notice the monies put back in their bags, whereas, earlier it indicates that they only opened one bag to find the monies inside. In reading this Parsha, we have found it helpful to follow along in the Scroll of Yasher, chpt.48- and 53:18-21 was especially inlightening. I Schmuel 22: Very little commented on here outside of the fact that Doeg, the Edomite, was living up to his name; dog! ;>) Lukas 23:50 Yoseph of Arimathea was an uncle to Yahushua, probably a rich man through his trade as a merchant, which would have taken him to many other countries. Also according to Steve Collins, author of America B.C. and other books concerning The Lost Tribes of Israel, Yahushua, as a young man most likely accompanied his uncle on many of these journeys. Probably after the death of His step-father, in order to 'learn' the trade, to better provide for His mother and family, as He was the firstborn. Discussion lead to the topic of perhaps Yahshua was here in N. America ministering to those of the Lost Tribes who were descendants of those most likely responsible for mining the copper from Island Royal in Upper Mich. in the days of King Sholomo/Solomon. Again reference to this comes from Steve Collin's books as well as several sources. While in our fellowship time, we played 'jingo'; a game much like 'bingo' except that one must be knowledgeable of the story of Hannakah to fully enjoy it. (notes courtesy of bro. James)

Yom Shabbat December 1st, Location Michigan, Brother Randy Champion's Home 1:00-5:00pm - Parsha 9 Vayeshev “And he dwelt” December 1, 2007 21 Kislev 5768 Genesis 37:1–40:23 Alef Shmuel/1st Samuel 21, Luke 22 12-1-07 Parsha 9 Ber. 37:1- 40:23 Ber. 37:29 We noticed here that only Reuven rent his clothes for Yoseph, and nonoe of the others seemed so inclined. We also wondered why Ya'acov did not notice this, unles it might because it took several days to return to Ya'acov, and may have changed clothed in the interim. Verse 11; Ya'acov seems to understand the importance of Yoseph's dreams; perhaps because of his encounter at Beth El as he was departing for Padam-Aram. We notice that the word used here is 'shomer" (to guard or watch out for). Verse 32; the 'Father' knows the 'Son' and 'His' clothing. Clothing being a covering, it is possible to see a picture of how YHWH continually recognized Yahushua by His 'covering'; the keeping of The Torah. Verse 38; We recognize that the story of Timnah is placed here in order to help us see the bloodline of King Dawid, as well as the ancestery of Yahushua, The Messiah. (discussion on how the curse of 10 generations must pass from the time a foreignor becomes an Israelite, until they can enter the Temple.) 39:1 Greene's Interlinear seems to indicate the Potiphar was a eunech. If this is so this may help better understand why Potiphar's wife so desired Yoseph. 40: We notice here that Yospeh is now given the ability to intrepret dreams. When he had dreams back home, he apparently did not intrepret them, but it seems his family was able to do that, as they accused him of dreaming that they would end up serving him. This may be because Hebrew words use pictographs to convey meanings, this may have played an importatnt part in yoseph's abilities. I Shmuel 21: Wondering why Goliaths' sword would have been kept among the Kadosh things? Many 'rabbit trails' came up in this section concerning such items as; The Ark; Aaronn's Rod; The stars and the heavens; etc. Lukas 22: Looking back at Yoseph in proson, we see this same attitude of service that Yahushua disp[layed Also noticed that in the name of the man that betrayed ha Mashiach, we see The Name of YHWH. Could this be a hidden truth that only by YHWH's will was Yahushua able to be taken and executed? (notes courtesy of bro. James)
