STUDIES IN DECEMBER 05

Sabbath Shul on the 31st of December Location Waldron 1:00PM-5:00PM Excellent Shul with many and varied discussions.  The Parsha was number 10 Mikketz 41:1-44:17 Haftarah Melechim Alef 3:15-4:1 Brit Chadasha Maaseh Shlichim 7:9-16 And had to do with the dreams the Pharaoh , king of Egypt had that Joseph interpreted for him and how the Pharaoh exulted Joseph to the highest place in the kingdom to execute the plan that would save all of the Egyptians and also Josephs family from utter starvation.  The fact that the dream occurred two times indicated the fact that the dreams were soon to come to pass.  Another discussion also derived from this was that the Baker and the Cupbearer were types of the lamb to be slain and the scape-goat upon which the sins of the people was to lay, as it was led out into the wilderness.  Some types and shadows discussed of the sacrificial system, wherein the Messiah is seen in the bringer of the offering and the offering itself, and the high priest who is sacrificing the offering. Bit of difference of opinion expressed in the origin of the Oral traditions of the elders.  Some believe that most came from Moses, and others believe that it is too hard to validate whether or not something came form Moses.  Bereshite 43:23 was discussed and the phrase "may the Elohim of your Abba," was explored to some degree in terms of Joseph concealing his identity.  We also enjoyed a wonderful song in Hebrew, "Yahshua Loves Me" performed by three young boys.  Great dinner of home made steak stir fry, homemade Amish bread, Challa bread, & salad was enjoyed by all (special thanks to brother James).  We look forward to the next Shul in Reading.

Shabbat Shul on the 24rth of December, Location Brother Randy's outside of Hillsdale 1:00-4:00PM  Torah Parsha 9 Vayeshev 37:1-40:23 Haftarah Ahmos 2:6-3:8 Brit Chadasha Maaseh Shlichim 7:9-16 Sabbath Torah Study. The story of Jacob’s sons Joseph and Judah.  A very clear indication of the 2 separate houses of Israel. Haftorah Amos ??? The reasons for the curses on Israel Brit Chadasha Acts 7:9 Here we have an overview of the story of Joseph, how he was sold into slavery and eventually made king over Egypt under Pharaoh. Chapter 3 is speaking to Israel down through the ages verse 3 can be taken in 2 ways.

  1. Man must learn to walk with YHWH

  2. Both house s of Israel must learn to walk together in cooperation.

Reference made to Acts 7:27; this is a common attitude between Jew and Christian and the challenge of Notzarim Yisrael.   Conversation turned to recent teachings of Moshe Koniuchowsky and his turning back from finger-pointing.  The need for unity among believers, and to be conscious of offending new believers. A fine meal was served and fellowshipping involved the reminiscing of the “old days.” In closing we turned to Jeremiah 10 and Jeremiah 44 and discussed how blinded the Christian Church is concerning these scriptures.

Erev Shabbat Shul 23rd of December, Location, outside Jackson at Brother Richard Clores 6:00-10:00PM Excellent Shul with many lively and varied discussions. The evening started with a wonderful piano demonstration and the singing of a well known hymn.  The Shabbat candles were lit and the blessing recited. Portion 9 was Vayeshev / He Dwelt - Bereshith 37:1-40:23 Haftarah Ahmos 2:6-3:8 Brit Chadasha Maaseh Shlichim 7:9-16  The portion was about Jacob settling in the land and raising his family, particularly the events of leading up to the selling of Joseph into slavery. Several midrashes developed from this portion including ideas about the predestination and free will ideas, the two house ideas inherent in the portion, and the millennial reign timing , the eighth day, and the creation concepts of the thought before the forming thesis.   Much of the time was spent in conversation as we discussed the scriptures and how they fit together in context of our identity as the general commonwealth of Israel seeking to reestablish our Hebrew roots and learn the Torah, or Shema the Torah.  Several questions were posed and we spent time exploring all of them, including but not limited to the question of birthdays and how we should view them or if we as Hebrew Israel should celebrate them. This evolved into the xmass tradition and the implications of what it says about the Messiah. Great dinner was served (special thanks for the Clores for hosting this Shul and the excellent fare) We hope to see everyone at the next Shul and continue our discussions and learning of Yah's WORD.

Shabbat Shul 17nth of December, Location, Reading 1:00-6:00PM  An excellent Shul full of discussions from the Torah Parsha 8 Vayishlach (which means "He Sent") 32:3-36:43 (which means "He Sent") 32:3-36:43 Haftarah Hoshea 11:7-12:12 Brit Chadasha Qorintiyah Alef 5:1-13. The drama of Esau and Jacob is played out in this portion full of two house Prophetic portent of which we fully discussed.  The Portion discussed Jacob,  how he separated his two wives into two camps because of the potential hazards that he thought might meet him at the hands of his brother Esau. The two houses that were split after king Solomon died and their prophetic roles in the history of humanity were correlated as well as some interesting ideas related to the two houses inherent even within Judah such that the two house symbolism was not lost even after the House of Israel was carried away. Some discussions on the wisdom and perhaps even what some might perceive as faithlessness on the part of Jacob who would resort to such drastic measures to blunt the anger of Esau his brother and provide a peaceful solution to the potential conflict using even his own wives and children. An interesting portion for sure which was followed by a wonderful meal and fellowship time.

Erev Shabbat Shul, 9nth of December, Location Jackson  Shul started with discussions of the Michael Rood Feasts of YHWH videos that offer in depth teaching on the prophetic cycles found within the Feasts and some of his other videos that show some rather arcane things such as sand hydraulic systems that the priests had to hide the Ark, as well as the current resting place of the Ark, surmised by Rood and others to be in a cave on Mount Moriah.  Other discussions revolved around the entire Hebrews controversy started by Monte Judah of lion lamb ministries.   Moshe K has put out several articles debunking what he calls the "unjust hacking of Hebrews" and they can be viewed at his site YATI  in a three part installment.  Both sides should be carefully read and considered by the faithful.  The Torah Portion was taken from Torah Parsha 7 Vayetze (which means "And He Departed") 28:10-32:3 (which means "And He Departed") 28:10-32:3 Haftarah Hoshea 12:13-14:10 Brit Chadasha Yochanan 1:43-51 This portion dealt with Jacob leaving Laban and the events that occurred during this time in his life, including the opening of the gates of heaven before Jacob in a vision and the same vision being promised to Nathaniel/Natan'EL in the Brit Chadasha.  Pizza was served and fellowship ensued.

Shabbat Shul 3rd of December, Location, Waldron 1:00-6:00PM  This Shul was excellent with several new people in attendance. Some came from the Toledo area, some came from around the Detroit area, and some came from just over the Ohio border. Another couple came form Hillsdale. We read the Parsha 6 section, and actively discussed it. Several comments were made regarding Isaac and the principle of blessing inherent within his life, as well as the controversy between Esau and Jacob. A spirited discussion ensued regarding elements of predestination based on Romans 9 and the notion that there may be some elements  of free will involved in the selection process.  A great dinner was served (special thanks to brother James) and fellowship commenced as many of us got to know the new comers.  It is always good to see different perspectives on the scripture, and to have other input that others who are from different walks of life than we are, bring to the table.  We are looking forward to the next Shul and hope to see everyone there.
