Yom Shabbat February 16th, Location - Brother James Cramer's Home. 1:00-5:00pm - Parsha 20 Tetzaveh “You shall command” February 16, 2008 10 Adar-I 5768 Exodus 27:20–30:10 Bet Shmuel/2nd Samuel 1, John 9 2-16-08 Parsha 20 Shemoth 27:20-30:10 28:15 Why was the breastplate of the priest called "the breastplate of 'mishpat' "; or 'right ruling' in some translations? Perhaps because it rests over the heart, which is where true righteous judgment comes from. Vrs. 30 The Urim and The Thummim; the two witnesses of the Covenant. Used by the priests to come to a conclusion in matters in which they needed Yah's judgment. Vrs.34 Why were pomegranates used? Is there any other significance besides the 613 Laws as the Jews claim? Vrs.39 We see here that the head covering is a commanded vestment for all in the office of priest; at least while officiating. 29:14 Why was the flesh burned outside the camp? In verses 13-14 we notice that this is a sin offering. Perhaps the organs are representative of the Righteousness of Yahuah's Ruach within us, and that the flesh represents sin. Thus we would note profane the Alter by placing sin upon it. Vrs. 20 In the listing of the vestments of the priests we notice that there is no mention of footwear. It is assumed that the priest officiated barefoot, using the Scripture of Yah's comment to Moshe as he stood before the burning bush, that he was to remove his sandals. This also leads us to assume that every time Moshe climbed the mount Sinai, he done so barefoot. Vrs. 39 The word evening actually refers to "between the evenings" a time period between 3 and 6 in the afternoon.` 30:8 Do the lamps stay lit all day or does verse 7 mean that every morning they were prepared for the evening, and that they were relit at the evening prayers? II Schmuel 1:1 Was this Amalekite who slew Saul a prosolyte of David, or perhaps a captured warrior who wanted to make David think that he was on his (Dawid's) side? Many unanswered questions concerning this individual and his actions; such as "Why would an Amalekite: whom Dawid's army had just vanquished, go to David?" " Why would he make a brag to Dawid that he had killed Saul?". ETC. Vrs 26 Just how do we understand this "ahava" ( love) between Dawid and Jonathan? As Moshe notes in his endnotes; many try to associate this with homosexuality. Since the Scriptures are very adament concerning the abomination of homosexuality, we must assume that this is the wrong concept. Perhaps a better understanding can be had in realizing the relationship of comrades in arms. When you are close to an individual in such a relationship that you are accountable for one another's lives you tend to developed a very tight bond with that person; realizing that you are responsible for "watching" his back, just as he is responsible for "watching" your back. A great amount to trust and faith is exhibited between such individuals. Yohnanon 9: It is interesting that the Pharisees and Saducees were both noted as going to Alexandria for their education. This ends the notes for 2-16. We had a wonderful shul and Bro. Harlyn enlightened us on some of the aspects of eating cooked foods and how that depletes the enzymes in one's body. These must be replaced through eating raw foods in which the enzymes have not been destroyed. (notes courtesy of bro. James)

Yom Shabbat February 2nd, Location - Brother Randy Champion's Home 1:00-5:00pm - Parsha 18 Mishpatim “Judgments” February 2, 2008 26 Sh’vat 5768 Exodus 21:1–24:18 Alef Shmuel/1st Samuel 30, John 7 2-2-08 Parsha 18 Shemoth 21:1-24:18 23:17 Q) Does this only refer to just the males? It appears that many believe that only the males are to go to the Feasts of ascensions, but in the Renewed Covenant we read that when Yahushua was 12 years old He ended up staying behind when the rest of His family left to return home. We also read that His mother went back with Joseph to search for Him. This would seem to indicate that at least the Feast of Tabernacles was a family affair. Though it is my own personal opinion that all the Feasts are intended to be kept by the entire family, thus giving the youth the ability to experience the Righteousness of Yah! 24:7 Again we see the marriage covenant given to Israel. Vrs.10 They (meaning the 73 Elders and Priests who went up with Moshe) saw ELOHIM! this is also repeated in verse 11. Most likely who they witnessed was actually Yahushua YHWH. Vrs. 16 The tifereth of YHWH was upon Mt.Sinai 7 days, on the 7th day Moshe was called to go up. Is this before, during, or after the calling to come up in verse 12? If modern judicial systems were based upon these ordinances, how much different would society be today? I Schmuel 30:1 Here we see that not only does David have 2 wives, but both are from heathen backgrounds. vrs. 22 Beliyaal = Strongs # 1097 "without profit, worthless." # 8276 "serag: to entwine or wrap" Sumation "Failure, destruction entwined with failure and wickedness". Yochanan 7:8 The RSTNV reads "I do not go up to this moed". The KJV seems to be the better translation here as we read in vrs. 10 the Yahushua actually does go up to this Feast, only later then His brothers and Disciples. In the time of Yahushua there appears to have been many claiming to be the Messiah, playing upon the contemporary belief the the Messiah was coming as a triumphant savior. Verse 16; This verse flies in the face of those who claim that Yahushua brought us a "new" religion. Verses 28-29 Unless those who heard understood just Who Yahushua was/is, they could not have understood this saying. Vrs.35 Since the Jews were questioning whether Yahushua meant that He was going to the dispersed among the Greek and pagan nations, it is obvious that the Jews of that time understood where the "lost tribes" of Northern Israel could be found. Vrs.52 These Pharisees apparently forgot where the prophets Jonah and Nahum were from. The Pharisees were the most popular sect with the people, but there were many different sects within the Jewish culture. The book "The Jesus Dynasty" by Dr. James Tabor gives a very good insight into these differing sects. We had a very small meeting last Shabbat with Bro. Randy hosting, Bro. Carry, Ariel, and myself in attendance. (notes courtesy of bro. James)
