The book being discussed is Restoration: Returning the Torah of God (YHWH) to the Disciples of Jesus (Yahshua) , Paperback , ISBN-10: 1892124211 . Chapters 3 and 4 were discussed as well as some periphery discussion that developed. Warm and friendly fellowship.

Yom Shabbat June 23rd, Location outside Jackson Michigan, 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 39 Chukat “Statute” June 23, 2007 7 Tamuz 5767 Numbers 19:1–22:1 Judges/Shophtim 21, Luke 2 A heifer is any female cow which has not freshened. Usually under 2 years old. Discussion for those less familiar concerning the requirements of "red". No more then 2 hairs of another color. One of the contrasts we see between the command of the red heifer and Christianity's take on sin is that in the Torah we see that all sin has to be atoned for and that a purification process must be accomplished. Modern Christianity often overlooks their own sins and justify not cleansing themselves in Yahushua's blood with the thought/statement that Yah knows my sins, I don't have to confess them. A very dangerous presumption! Another discussion concerned what areas coming into contact with a dead body were considered unclean.  Basically, any open air which contacted a body within a dwelling, was considered unclean. 20:8 we notice here that Aaron's rod here is not referred to as Aaron's but rather the rod. 21:1-9 We see Israel referred here as Israel many times; but... verse 10 they are now referred to as the children of Israel. Is there a reason for this? None known. Moshe K. has interpreted  here "the sea of Reeds" which may have been an ancient reference to the entire area including the "Red Sea" . This also may have been a name which came into use by means of a mistake in translation, either in the translation of Reeds into Red, or visa versa. In either case, we know that Mt. Hor was in the area of the Red Sea and understanding the places named in Ex. we are able to better able to pinpoint where Israel made their crossing at. Judges 21: Shiloh; the place where the Tabernacles was built, was actually lower then the surrounding terrain. YHWH commanded that His people not build on the high places. This would be military suicide by today's standards, as it is desirable to have the high ground in any battle, but YHWH may have used this as a test whether the peop[le would have faith in their own arm to defend, or HIS. Also, from Yah's point of view, it may have worked to keep Israel from knowing the full strength of their enemies, and becoming more fearful. Luke 2:  YHWH gave us The LIght of the World during the Hanukah season, and 9 months later; at Sukkoth, Yahushua was born. Verse 7 How and where did Moshe K. come up with Yahushua's swaddling clothes being made of strips of Menorah cloth? Only the priestly families would have had access to these most likely, and since Joseph and  Miriam were rather poor, it would appear that they could not afford to use such for swaddling, as it must be assumed that there would have been a considerable price on such a desirable item. Verse 32; The 'unveiling' mentioned here appears to refer to us becoming aware of who we are (Hebraic roots) in Moshiach. (notes courtesy of brother James)

Shabbat Services 06-23-07 Conducted at Bro Richard Clore Torah Parsha 39 Chukkat 19-:1-22: 1  Topic of Hamidbar chapter 19 - The Red Heifer Questions arising from the reading of this chapter: Q. Was is the age of a heifer? A. Normally it was a heifer of no more that two years of age. The animal was also considered "freshened," which means that she had never produced calve  Q. What is a red heifer and do they exist today? A. They have red fur/hair, and to meet the torah requirements, it could not have more than two white hairs. It was also noted that there are some calves that are born entirely red, however as they mature, the hairs change color. Comments on verses in this passage Verse 12 "He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean." The individual was responsible for making sure that he became ritually clean after this event. We are obligated to make ourselves clean. A discussion ensued where it was agreed that according to the customs of those days, the deceased was not taken from the home, so any impurity resulting remained "within the tent."  We also learned that impurity affected even the air in which the deceased body occupied. Verse 15 "And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean." It was also noted that metal containers that were left exposed, would require puritfcation, however porous vessels such as wood and clay would need to be destroyed. Hamidbar chapter 20 - Mayim Questions arising from the reading of this chapter: Q. Why was the death of Miriam not mourned? A. No conclusive answer was arrived at. Q. Why did Mosheh become angry with the people? A. It was evident that he became exasperated with the people after leading them for so many years, and seeing their rebelliousness continually. Summary of the discussion on this chapter: Verse 1 The death of Miriam. It was noted that after Miriam died, they cried out for water. It has been suggested that within Rabbinic writings that Miriam's righteousness perseved and even caused the waters to continue to flow. However upon her death they ceased. We looked at the meaning of Miriam's name, as it appeared that her name may have been connected with the word "mayim."  Her name is derived from the word "kentumsey," which means "their stubborness, willfulness." Strong's concordance states that her name means "rebellion." It was also noted that Aahron's bud was now called "the rod." Verse 10 "...........and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?  Mosheh and Aahron failed so "set apart" Yahuha not pointing to him as the provider of the mayim. It appears that they both pointed to themsleves as the provider of the water. Verse 26 "And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there. " Q. Was this a humiliating situation for Aahron to be "stripped of his vesture.?" Several suggestions were made Aahron was taken away from the people by Mosheh, therefore it was done in private. Being stripped of his vesture, was probably his priestly garments.  It was also noted that, this had to take place in this way. The garments were given to his son who was to succeed him as Kohan, so they would have to be removed "before the death of Aahron" otherwise the garments would have been ritually unclean, due to the fact that we are told that Aahron was to die. If they were not removed in a timely manner, they would have to wait until 7 days before the garments could be used in the priest's office. Hamidbar Chaper 21 Questions arising from the reading of this chapter: Q. Why is the term "Yisrael" used and not the customary term "the Children of Yisrael" used in verses 2, 3 and later again in verse 21  A. It was suggested that perhaps the children of Yisrael spoke as a united people as one voice Observations This was the second generation coming to fruition. They had not fought the Phillistines, neither had they seen them. They appeared more willing than their progentors to fight, and not retreat as we had observed before in Yisrael's history. Shophtim 21 Benjamin suffered as result of their atrocities and did not have wives to marry. "Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife." Q. Should they have sought to remedy the situation in this way? Was it really Yahuah's will that they do this? A. It was pointed that often times we seek his face, and then we go ahead a form a "committee" and decide on what to do anyway rather than waiting of Him. Brit Chadasah - Luke Chapter 2 Questions arising from the reading of this chapter: Q. How could Miriam and Yaseph use "swaddling clothes" clothes used to light the temple menorah. As it is something that only the priests would be permitted to use? A. A suggestion were offered. That as Moshiah is the "light of the world," then naturally it would follow that menorah cloths would be used for him. Q. Why is it stated in verse  32 "A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel." A. Several answers were provided. That the light shown to the Gentiles was to show them who they were, that they are indeed Yisraelites. The light was given to "unveil them" to reveal the truth to them. Observations Verse 21 "And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons." It was stated that Moshiach's parents were poor people, as in the torah it instructs poor people to offer turtledoves or two pigeons after the time of the purification of women after giving birth. Your Living Waters Hebrew Roots Fellowship meeting, Yom Shabbat June 23rd, Location at the Lampost Theatre at 204 W Seerley Boulevard in Cedar Falls, Iowa.   1:00 to 4:00 PM - Parsha 39 Chukat “Statute” June 23, 2007 7 Tamuz 5767 Numbers 19:1–22:1 Judges 11:1-33 , John 11-12 Several interesting comments throughout on this portion, as three people brought a midrash on it. Format includes Davidic Dancing and praise, Prayer, Blessing of the Torah, Reading and discussion of the Portion, and finished with the closing Blessing of the Torah, and the Aaronic blessing canted in Hebrew. Midrash 1 is linked HERE. Midrash 2 is linked HERE. Midrash 3 is linked HERE. Drash on the complaint that the Israelites had regarding the Manna, citing that they "hate this cursed bread!" This , was a spiritual picture of the rebels, as Moses noted them, being against Yahweh's torah. Further postulated that this might very well be a prophetic picture of modern churchianity with its hatred of Torah as well.

Yom Shabbat June 16nth, Location Waldron Michigan, 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 38 Korach “Korah” June 16, 2007 30 Sivan 5767 Numbers 16:1–18:32 Judges/Shophtim 20, Luke 1 Considerable discussion about Korach's being of the Levitical family and perhaps this led to a jealousy over the position going to Aaron. Which does hold some merit, as it was Aaron who was responsible for  the golden calf. But the fact that they (Korach, Dathan, and Abiram) set themselves against Moshe, whom Yah had repeated displayed to be HIS servant, puts them into a position of outright rebellion; not just against Moshe, but against YHWH HIMSELF. We also notice how easily the people are swayed to forget the severe bondage they experienced in Egypt, and desire to return. ( A foreshadow perhaps of the state of "Israel" today, as we constantly find ourselves falling into "old habits". Before each rebellion, we have noticed great miracles; yet the people seem to disregard these miracles and opt for the consensus of the few rebellious. In 16:31-41 we see a great example of this, Even though YHWH had performed the miracle of opening the ground and swallowing up Korach and company, (vrs 41) the very next day the people are caught murmuring. 18:19 We see here the mention of " a covenant of salt". The context is that of the Kohens. They were to be as incorruptible as salt, and a preserver of ;not only The Law, but the Nation as well. As we see in later writings, this proved not to be the case as they were often corrupt and self serving. Thus the Levitical priesthood; Which was to perform before YHWH always was "cast out and trodden under the feet of men." Matt. 5:13 Judges 20:6 It is hard for us to comprehend a person cutting up someone into peices and sending those peices out throughout the country like so much meat, but the purpose was to stir up the other tribes into desiring to take revenge upon the tribe of Benjamin. Israel had gotten so messed up by this time that YHWH had to shake the people up to get their attention. First by sending the gathered tribes into losing battles twice, then by causing such a defeat of the tribe of Benjamin, that they would forever after remain a remnant people. Luke 1: We notice here that both of Yochanan's parents are from the Levitical family. In verse 36 we are told that Miryam and Elisheva are cousins; thus making Miryam, the mother of HaMashiach, also of the Levitical family. Could this be YHWH's bringing of the Levitical and Melech-tzidik priesthoods together? In Verses 67-79 We see Yochanan's father; Zacharyah giving an amazing prophesy as well as a blessing upon his son. Only The Ruach of Elohim could have revealed these things to him.

Yom Shabbat June 16nth, Location Waterloo Iowa, 1:00-5:00PM CST Parsha 38 Korach “Korah” June 16, 2007 30 Sivan 5767 Numbers 16:1–18:32 Judges/Shophtim 20, Luke  1 Excellent Shul with several interesting teaching points including but not limited to the responses that the rebellious  people gave to Moshe.  The untruths inherent in the statements that were spoken against YHWH such as the complaint that they were brought forth out of Egypt, a land flowing with milk and honey was far from the truth that the people were in terrible bondage, even so much as their male children in danger of their very lives. The implication that Moshe was acting solely without authority, and was trying to vaunt himself was a particularly odious accusation, one that angered YHWH greatly because HE was truly that one that invest the authority in Moses to bring the people up out of their bondage in Egypt.  The portion demonstrated YHWH's wrath and showed the it was summary and with great consequence, as not only the three men that came out against Moses and Aaron slid down to hell through a large portal that opened in the earth, but the 250 leaders of Israel were burned immediately for their complicity in going against Moses. This indicates that we must be VERY CAREFUL not to follow the multitude when it is doing evil. YHWH's hand is not slack in the least. The anger and wrath of YHWH was shown to vindicate MOSES as the true leader and representative of YHWH. Aaron was also again confirmed in the instance of the rod budding, putting to silence the foolish murmurings of the people once and for all regarding his office. The final chapter dealt with what was due to the Levites in offerings etc. Haftorah portion discussed the dire consequences for one tribe when they tolerated evil in their midst. Can we suggest that perhaps Yahweh's wrath might come upon America because of just such a thing? Luke gave the opening chapter to the life of Yahshua, and the beginning of the narrative of how John the Baptist was raised up to be a prophet unto Israel, even in the similitude of Elijah the great prophet of Israel, another type and shadow of the coming Elijah who will do many things to put the house of YHWH in order. We pray we are ready and open to his message. (notes courtesy of brother James)

Yom Shlishi June 12th, Location Des Moines Iowa from 7:00PM-11:00++, Brad Scott special speaker, Letter level Ancient Hebrew Prophecy This teaching was one of the most enlightening and provocative that I have heard in a long time. Brother Brad was personable, charismatic, and humorous in his presentation style. Brad Scott is from Wild Branch Ministries and is linked on the site. Brad started by giving his area of expertise, that he was a student of etymological pictograph Hebrew agro-bio-linguistics.  "All languages come forth from simple agricultural and biological beginnings," noted Scott as he moved further into the study. He quoted Romans 11:18 "Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee." Isaiah 46:10 "10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand and I will do all that I please." This scripture declares that out of the end, and out of the ancient times the things that are not yet done. This was the first support of Scott to suggest that what we see happening in the future, already has been noted and foretold in the Beginning, in the Hebrew Language, the root meanings and their prophetic import. With this in mind, Scott went on to declare "a prophecy teacher must start at the beginning in order to properly follow through to the end."  This is contrary to the spirit of this age, that has progressively torn down the story of the beginnings, discrediting it and suggesting that it is irrelevant, a tactic of Satan to be sure. Every teaching in prophecy is linked and embedded in the first four chapter of Bereshith/Genesis.  After this discourse, Scott was apologetic regarding his teaching style that he called "shot gun and scattered." He brought up (Zephaniah 3:9) "For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of YHWH, to serve him with one consent." The language today is removed from the agrarian and biological context where it once sprang up. This has caused several problems in translation and transmission of words.  Psalms 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of YHWH; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." Scott enumerated how we have the answers to our existence and the existence of YHWH in the heavens, but YHWH still allows us fallen creatures to have a choice in whether or not we will follow HIM or not. Hebrew 11:3 "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of YHWH, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." Scott spoke of how YHWH hides things that he wishes to communicate so that we will take the effort and time to search them out, he says that this is one way that YHWH has to evaluate us and approve us. Central point being that the answers are there, they just have to be uncovered.  The entire scripture begins with a word picture and that picture is the letter Bet, which carries the pictogram of a house, something that many of us had heard before in detail from lion lamb ministries. Analogy was proposed by Scott, about the dissemination of knowledge and how it affects all of us, as it comes to us. The idea of a Mountain top that melts and pure water comes down the mountain, that water then filters down through the highlands, into the low lands, into rivers, picks up silt, and all kinds of other materials on its way, and finally empties out somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. By the time the water is flowing into the Gulf, it has picked up all kinds of things that are impure and cloudy. This is, according to Scott, an analogy of the seminaries and higher religious institutions in the world.  Scott went on to suggest that we needed to get back to the agricultural, and biological roots of the Hebrew language to get a clearer and less dirty or cloudy picture of scripture and what it says, and most particularly prophecy.  Scott gave a visual illustration that was a representation of how simple things were , that every meaning in the bible can be derived from the agricultural and biological underpinnings of the language roots themselves. . It has been man that has created these complex theologies in our universities, taking simple things and turning them into great exegetical gymnastic accomplishments of philosophy when the truth is so very simple and rooted in the common things seen in the graphic above. Romans 1:20 cited "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" This shows that YHWH has made the world in such a way that the natural things that we see, reveal his hidden purposes and hidden truths contained in the heavens and in His plan. Scott then went on to explain how some of this dirty water filtration process causes us to loose or sanitize the agricultural and biological meanings inherent in the words from whence we glean that there is only one seed from the beignning. A list was proposed including but not limited to 1) Apostle -) apostalic -) "shoots of a plant" , 2) Grace -) Charis -) Chanah -) "pitch a tent with" , 3) Faith -) Pistis -) Aman -) "drive a stake, or support a tent" , 4) Law -) Nomos -) Torah -) Yarah -) "cast forth fruit or rain", 5) Inhereit/Heir -) Kleronomos -) Nachal -) "river or stream" , 6) Word -) Logos -) Davar -) "to order back to the food source" , (this word means that His Word orders us back to the food source, much in the same way a bee seeks out and secures pollen to make honey, an etymology that is indeed inferred in the word itself) 7) Chosen -) Eklektos -) Bachar -) "wall in a flock of sheep" , 8) Church -) Ecclesia -) Qahal -) "call out those sheep" , (side note that we find many more apostles in the OT/TaNaKh than in the NT/Ketuvim Netzarim 9) Glory -) Doxa -) Kavad -) "heaviest organ (such as the liver)" , 10) Remember -) mna'omai -) Zakar -) "to speak or act on behalf of" , 11) Counsel -) Boule -) Etz/Etzym -) "tree". Scott then proceeded to give a list of more words that are root in the simple picture seen above, illustrating that we may have brownish water (flowing into the Gulf analogy) that creates these theological words and not be cognizant of the pure and simple meanings Some of the words that he listed that were natural root types of words were Wilderness, Iron, Clay, Grass, Roots, Stones, Mountains, Fields, Hills, Valleys, and many more.  The next portion of the teaching dealt with the paradigmatic differences between the Greek Thought process, or the Hellenistic thought process and the Hebrew thoughts process. The first difference is that the Greek Thought process is abstract, in other words, expressing characteristics apart from the object. Hebrew on the other hand is concrete, again rooted in agricultural and biological objects. The second difference is that Greek is Linear, and shows itself to progress in an evolutionary course down the timeline from one idea to the next, continually coming up with new ideas and beliefs. Hebrew on the other hand is cyclical, and assumes previous belief and knowledge, cycles of righteousness, Hebrew idiomatic phrases, all of this culminated in Solomon's words "the thing that has been, is the thing that will be, and there is nothing new under the sun."  A third difference is that Greek thought is about people places or things, the Nouns being static, and without movement, a simple scholastic observance. Hebrew on the other hand comes out with Passionate movement, and shows a Noun "doing something." A fourth difference is that Greek or Hellenistic thought is demonstrates the exclusive equation of inductive or deductive reasoning over a point. Accuracy is discovered by default, if either point of the equation fails, leading this type of thought to come to the exclusive and only alternative left. Out of this process comes the certainty that someone exemplifying the Greek form of thought , is "right,:" without dispute, and unequivocally hardened in the mind of such individual. Hebrew on the other hand employs open block logic. It is a large box that demonstrates a variety of conclusions, all scaled on levels of understanding, in the well known PaRDeS, onion pealing back to a deeper and deeper level of understanding. There is no need of "either, or" in the Hebrew mindset, but a process of growing into a deeper level of understanding on a concept. Scott then defines the PaRDes model. The concrete illustration that Scott gave was regarding the different interpretations that people come up with to explain the churches in Revelations, and their exact meaning. Several people write books, defend their own, and attempt to debunk another idea, whether it be that the churches are the church ages through time, the spiritual condition of all the churches now, the interpersonal relationship we have corporately with Messiah, or some other idea tha very well may be within the PaRDes model . Greek on the other hand has a very small box, either-or thinking that is very limited on many acocunts. One last distinctive difference between the Greek mode of thinking and the Hebrew mode is that Greek or Hellenistic thought process is all about "Form," the question of what does it look like? It is a cold unmoving objective method of evaluating something. Hebrew on the other hand asks the question, "Yes, BUT what does it DO??" It seeks to find the function of the item and gets to the real heart of the matter. Scott went on to give some examples of this and finished with some periphery comments. All in all, the teaching was very useful and enlightening. .

Yom Shabbat June 9nth, Location Jackson Michigan, 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 37 Shelach “Send thou” June 9, 2007 23 Sivan 5767 Numbers 13:1–15:41 Judges/Shophtim 19, Mark 16 Very large group this Shul, with several provocative and interesting insights from the group.  The Parsha was read and discussed as normal with several comments interspersed. The concept of the Evil Report that the ten spies brought back was discussed and a parallel was offered that a lack of faith is tantamount to an evil report. It is an evil report that we make against YHWH most HIGH when we lack the faith to do something that HE says he will help us do. There were also some discussion on the Tzit-Tzit/fringes/tassels (Numbers 15:38) as well and whether or not women should wear them. Differing opinions amongst the group on this, as well as some very provocative discussions that developed from the reading in Judges that simmered down only after several minutes of back and forth ideas proposed. Final thoughts on the scripture in Zechariah 5:9 where it is said - "Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven." Some proposed a theory put out by Michael Rood and others that there might be a scribal error contrasting the Isha/woman with Aisha/fire making the women really read "fire," and that this is really talking about an ICBM intercontinental nuclear missile and Yahweh's judgment upon the earth for the great sin and wickedness of mankind that does seem to be growing ever worse. Excellent meal and fellowship ensued.

Yom Shabbat June 2nd Location Hillsdale Michigan, from 1:00-5:00PM - Parsha 36 Beha’alot’cha “When you set up” June 2, 2007 16 Sivan 5767 Numbers 8:1–12:16 Judges/Shophtim 18, Mark 15 This Shul was excellent with several people in attendance. The portions were read and discussed. Comments on the seven Lamps being corollary with the seven spirits before the throne of YHWH - Revelations 4:5. The consecration of the first born was discussed regarding the Levites and the Bachor/First Born. Some question of what is meant by the wave offering, or if it should be rendered heave offering, as a pushing up to the possession of the priests. Some comments on the journeying of the Israelites, going wherever the pillar of fire led them, whether by day or by night. Some implications of that in our own faith walk. Discrepancy explained in Numbers 4:22 of where the ages for priestly duties of the Levites were determined from 30-50 years, abut in Numbers 8:24, the ages determined are 25-50, and was explained that this was perhaps five years of training as an apprentice before being admitted into the full scope of ministry work.  Divisions cited , and their movements outlined, with Judah leading first, coupled with the Sod understanding of Praise preceding any other ministry. The statement in Numbers 10:35,36 where Moses says -

Moses said, 'Arise, O YHWH, and scatter your enemies! Let your foes flee before You!' When it came to rest, he said, 'Return, O YHWH, [to] the myriads of Israel's thousands.'  There are inverted Nun's here, and we discussed some of the implications for that which may have prophetic import for those of us now.  The people cried out over the fact that they were eating manna, and started to cry out for onions and leeks, and other bitter herbs that really are used to exemplify the tears of bondage in slavery in Egypt during the traditional Jewish Seder.  The mixed multitude that came up with them were making the trouble and some commentary on what exactly a ger means. There was an event that some of us felt paralleled another event in another portion, and this was the appointing and anointing of the seventy elders that were to help Moshe administrate the children of Israel. We read the account in |Numbers 11:16, but it was also mentioned in Exodus 18. The events of |Miriam and Aaron coming against Moshe because he married a Cushitic woman might be explained that Aaron simply went along with it even though Miriam was potentially the instigator, and she was the only one of the two seriously punished for her transgression.  Some additional comments on challenging leadership explained and brought out. |Judges 18 held a story that showed some character traits of Dan, that they were presumptuous and without much discretion, which is why they might have been put at the back of the group, and even without numbering in the book of Revelations.  Mark was discussed, and revolved mainly around the illegality of the council that handed Yahshua our beloved Savior over to the Romans to be killed.  Great meal and fellowship ensued.
