Ketubah, signed after the ceremony
Wedding Program
ì
First Reading: Bereshith/Genesis 2:18;
“
And YHWH Elohim said; ‘It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make a help meet
for him’.
Verse 24; “Therefore
shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and
they shall be one flesh”.
ìIn
Mattisyahu/Matthew 25:1-13 we are given a very significant parable by our
Messiah, which likens the marriage ceremony of a man and woman with the Marriage
of The Messiah-Yahushua, to His chosen Bride; The Restored Remnant of Israel.
In
this parable we see that a herald went before the groom and proclaimed; “Behold the bridegroom comes”
(gesture toward the door at the rear of the hall)
Groom enters
and comes forward to join Elder Greg under the huppah.
ì
It is written in Mishle/Proverbs 18:22
“Whoever
finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahuah”
And
in Ivrim/Hebrews 13:4
“Marriage
is honorable in all situations…”
at
this point start the cd
and
Marciyah enters, along with Bro. Baruch, who escorts her to the huppah.
ì
“
Who gives this woman to be married?”
Bro.
Baruch returns to his seat.
Marciyah
enters the huppah and circles Ya’acov
7 times; a blessing is given with each circle.
The
ketuvah is now read and signed by Ya’acov
and 2 witnesses (Bros. Greg and David)
ì
We are gathered here today in witness and to share the joy of
the marriage of brother Ya’acov
and sister Marciyah; who have chosen to be married in their Hebraic names.
Marriage
is an ancient institution, ordained and set-apart by The Almighty One.
While
one of the purposes of marriage is procreation; an even greater aspect of
marriage is its reflection of the relationship that our Creator desires with us.
Many Scriptures deal with this and Gilyahna/Revelations 19:7+8 tells us;
“Let
us be glad and rejoice and give honor to Him: for the marriage of The Lamb has
come, and His wife has made herself ready, and to her was granted that she
should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the
righteousness of the Yisraelite saints.”
ì
Ya’acov’s
statement and blessing;
I
lift my hands and face to the heavens and bless YHWH
“Baruch
Ata YHWH Elehanu, Melech ha olam, beshem Yahushua HaMoshiach for fulfilling the
need of man by creating woman and giving them the ordinance of marriage.”
ì
“Do
you Marciyah Ashmeil take James Ya’acov
Cramer to be your husband; to honor and obey, to love and cherish, and to
support his walk in Torah; now and as long as you both shall live?”
Marciyah
replies
ì
“Do
you Ya’acov take Marciyah to love, honor, and cherish; to support and
protect with all of your being, and provide with the best of your ability; now
and as long as you both shall live?”
I
reply
ì
Second Reading: Ephsiyah/Ephesians 5:21-23;
“Submit
yourselves one to another in the fear of YHWH. Wives, submit yourselves to your
own husbands, as you would to Yahushua. For the husband is the head of the wife,
even as Moshiach is the head of the Yisraelite congregation; and He is the
Savior of the body”.
And
in Titus 2:2-5 we see one of the duties of the older women, it reads; “Teach the older men to be sober, pure, temperate, sound in truth, in
love, and in patience,
Teach
the older women likewise, that they be in their behavior as becomes
set-apartness, not false accusers, not a servant to much wine, teachers of good
things; That they teach the young women to be modest, to love their husbands and
their children.”
I
Peter 3: 1-7 also outlines the duties of women in their service to Yahuah, and
Yah fearing men should support and encourage this in their wives.
ì
The virtures of a diligent wife are listed in Mishle/Proverbs 3:11-31
In
reading these virtures we will notice that they all benefit the family and
provide service to the home and community.
ìThird
(and last) Reading: Hoshea/Hosea 2:19-23.
“And
I will take you to Me forever and ever; I will take you back to me in right
standing, and in judgement, and in loving mercy, and in loving kindness. I will
take you to me as a bride in faithfulness: and you shall know YHWH. And it shall
come to pass in that day, I will hear, says YHWH, I will hear in the heavens,
and they shall hear in the earth; and the earth shall answer with the corn, and
with the wine, and the oil; and they shall answer Yizre-El, And I will sow her
for Myself in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained
mercy; and I will say to them who were not My people –
Ami; and they shall say, You are my Elohim.”
ì
A prayer and a blessing given by Bro. Greg.
I
now present to you; Mr. And Mrs. James Ya’acov
Cramer
