STUDIES IN MARCH 07!

Yom Shabbat March 31st, Location Waldron, 1:00-8:00PM Parsha 25 Tzav “Command” March 31, 2007 12 Nisan 5767 Leviticus 6:1(8)–8:36 , Judges/Shophtim 10, Mark 6 Excellent Shul will plenty of subjects discussed with many new people to meet who travelled many many miles to be here for the Pesach, a True Name, Literal Exodus style Pesach that people are drawn to from all over the country! Some of the subjects dealt with the Urrim and the Thummim and how Yah speaks to us today, or the lack thereof of His communication as some saw it. Plenty of discussion on the Set Apart Name and how to pronounce it as some brothers feel that they have a sure idea on that contrasted by others not so sure but open to ideas. Great singing and fellowship and a fantastic meal was served. Some discussion on the sacrifices and the third temple, whether it be in Jerusalem , built before the Messiah returns or after, and some prophetic eschatology ideas. This Shul ran a long time, until 8:00PM and even beyond that as sweet fellowship and excellent midrashes went on into the night! Baruch Ha Shem YHWH! ----- 2nd locationYom Shabbat March 31st, Location Jackson, 1:00-5:00PM- Parsha 25 Tzav “Command” March 31, 2007 12 Nisan 5767 Leviticus 6:1(8)–8:36 , Judges/Shophtim 10, Mark 6 (notes to come)

Yom Shabbat March 24rth, Location outside Jackson 1:00-4:00PM Parsha 24 Vayikra “And he called” March 24, 2007 5 Nisan 5767 Leviticus 1:1–5:26 (6:7), Judges/Shophtim 9, Mark 5 (no notes)

Yom Shabbat March 17nth 2007, Location outside Hillsdale, 1:00-5:00PM Parsha 22, 23 Vayak’hel/Pekudei “And assembled” March 17, 2007 27 Adar 5767 Exodus 35:1–40:38 Shophtim/Judges 8, Mark 4 It was noted that in the first chapter of this weeks Parsha, the people were divided into groups. There were those who had items and willingly gave, and there were those who had wisdom in making the accouterment of the Tabernacle who gave of their time and energies in that realm. It was also noted how interesting it was that YHWH provided the people with those items they would need for the Tabernacle. (How strange that someone would be carrying acacia wood boards while escaping from Egypt!) Given the depth of detail given concerning the items of; and building of, The Tabernacle, it would seem that there is something very significant that we should be seeing here. A possibility is that someone seeing these things for the first time; if they are indeed a "seeker", would recognize what they are and the significance they carry. Many other good comments were discussed. Chapter 35:3 The question was raised, how are we to keep our homes warm if we follow this command to the letter. A word search in Strongs brought a host of Hebrew words which are translated into English as 'kindle'. This one in particular seems to indicate a consuming. Which could be concerning the consuming of fuel; (though this would necessitate extinguishing the menorah on Shabbat and Moedim as well). Or it may be as some Rabbis have declared, that it pertains to the preparation of food on Shabbat by either cooking or baking. Much more discussion was given in this Parsha. Judges 8:33 The question was brought up; who or what was Ba'al-Birith? Literally this appears to mean lord of the covenant. Another word search brought up lord of the philistines. In either case we see Ba'al as translated lord thus a word more closely associated with paganism and their false elohims then with the One True Eloah. Mark 4:12 Question; why would Yahushua not want the people to make teshuva? Many good comments; "could have altered history if the greater number had repented and attempted to make Yahushua King at that time." "possibly because this was a mixed multitude He was speaking to"; could even be an idiom such as "Yes it would be great, but they are not there (spiritually) yet"  This comment about the people not having ears to hear with can also be found in Is.6:9-10 as well as Matt. 13:14 A very warm Shabbat spiritually, even if it was a cold one outside. Yom Shabbat, March 17, 2007 Waterloo Iowa Location, 1:00-4:00PM Parsha 22 Vayak’hel/Pekudei “And assembled” March 17, 2007 27 Adar 5767 Exodus 35:1–40:38 Shophtim/Judges 8, Mark 4 The portion dealt with what was to be done with the huge heave offering that the children of Israel gave up for the making of the tabernacle , the tabernacle articles, and the various clothes and implements thereof for the Kadosh service.  Each article was discussed and a graphic was shown.  The work must have been immense and considerable to say the least because of the sheer weight of gold silver and brass.  We see in this a picture that YHWH is no slouch when it comes to the things that represent his Kingdom and the pattern in the heavens that the tabernacle was supposed to represent.  The cunning workman was a son of Hur, commented on in the last Parsha. Betzal'El was his name and he appears to have had help from a representative of the tribe of Dan, Aholiab picturing the unity and coordinated help of the two houses of Israel united in a common effort.  Several types and shadows in this the making of the tabernacle and the implements. Judges carries on the story of Gideon, whose only main transgression was in putting some article of clothing on display and allowing it to become an idol in Israel.  However, Gideon a good and notable judge in Yisrael for the most part, refusing even to be King, though the people wanted him to be a King.  The parable of the sower discussed in the passage in Mark.

Yom Shabbat March 10nth 2007, Location is Waldron, 1:00PM-5:00PM Parsha 21 Ki Tisa “When you take” March 10, 2007 20 Adar 5767 Exodus 30:11–34:35 Shophtim/Judges 7, Mark 3 This Shul had diverse and varied discussions revolving around the reading. Discussions on the Shekal, and why David the King was punished. The altar of incense, and how it was not to be approached by just anyone and how the smoke of it was in many ways a type of the prayers of the Kidushim/Saints as they are praying heavenward. Some discussion on the golden calf, how the Israelites went astray and even Aaron was led astray along with them with some mention of how the Sages thought that Hur refuted and opposed the building of the golden calf, and was stoned for his strong stand, making Aaron compliant enough to then be led astray in the matter. In all, nearly three thousand men died by the swords of the Levites to put an end to the heresy. Shemoth 32:32 was discussed and how Moshe bargained with YHWH and how it could be that pagan cultures and their typical bargaining was something that they engaged in with deities and this may have carried on, others felt that this was simply showing Moses' heart in the matter that he was willing to lay his life down for the people.  Judges covered the story of Gideon. Fellowship and dinner ensued.

Yom Shabbat March 3rd 2007 Location outside Nashville  Michigan, 1:00-5:00PM! Parsha 20 Tetzaveh “You shall command” March 3, 2007 13 Adar 5767 Exodus 27:20–30:10 Shophtim/Judges 6, Mark 2 + PURIM CELEBRATION!  Purim Guide Haman's Ten Sons Parallels Discussions on the garments as to why they were listed in such detail, and for whose benefit, perhaps for the latter days restoration.  The bells on Aaron's garments were discussed and their uses.  An excellent guide passed around titled the Kregal Pictorial Guide to the Tabernacle that had some very good graphic illustrations of some of the article of the tabernacle in the wilderness.  Discussion on the unleavened cakes that were to sit in the table of shew bread as to how the oil was added, either before baking or after. The interlinear included the phrase "poured over," in reference to it while the RSTNE used the phrase "tempered with oil."  The grate may have had divine protection to withstand the wear and tear of so many burnt offerings being burned in it throughout the day and years. Lobe above the liver removed from the sacrifices, as is done today in Kashrut. Gideon in the Haf-Torah, and the man with palsy in the BritChadasha healed by Yahshua, who is said to have forgiven his sins.  Discussion and Oneg ensued.
