SABBATH SERVICES IN MARCH
Sabbath, March 5th, and 12th - Shul Cancelled.
Sabbath, March 19th - Hillsdale Location - Baruch Ha' Shem that our ailments have left us and we have been able to meet again. This flu seasons has been particularly hard on many of us. This study we went further in the FIRST STEPS IN HEBREW PRAYER book and cd set and read the teffillin prayers. The House of Judah fulfils the requirements in Deuteronomy 6 regarding putting the commands on our hands and between our eyes with these instruments called teffillin. A meal was served (special thanks to sister Judith for her meal preps) and we fellowshipped. We finished reading the haf-Torah and messianic scriptures readings as well. There may be some changes in format coming soon. We will announce after discussing it.
Sabbath, March 26th - 6:00-7:45 PM , Hillsdale Location - We studied the Ma Tovoo prayer from the First Steps in Hebrew Prayer CD and Book set, which has 2 different tunes to sing it. We read the prayer word by word in the Hebrew, listening carefully to the pronunciation on the CD set. After the Hebrew study, we enjoyed authentic Roman Pizza, with goat cheese, and many other fixings (special thanks to sister Judith for her culinary excellence!) After the meal, the torah portion was read carefully and discussed. It was taken from Vayiqra/Leviticus 6:8-8:35. The haf-Torah portion was taken from Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 7:21-8:3, and the Brit Chadasha portion was taken from Romans12:1-8. These portions gave further details regarding the sacrifices done by the Levites. We have enjoyed reading these portions out of the RESTORATION SCRIPTURES, 2ND EDITION, We have decided to institute a game portion after the studies to complement our fellowship time into the evening. We have been playing Exodus, the Passover Game, and Bible Trivia. Some of the bible trivia questions have to be corrected, but as a whole these games are a great learning experience that the kids (and adults) love!
