STUDIES IN MAY 06!

Sabbath Shul, May 27nth, Reading Location, 1:00-5:00PM  Torah Parsha 34 BaMidbar 1:1-4:20 Haftarah Hoshea 2:1-22 Brit Chadasha Gilyahna 7:1-17  This Parsha begins "In the Wilderness", translated from B'Midbar, as Moshe is given the instruction to number the children of Israel, according to their divisions, and to establish the "order" of the camp of Israel. Several interesting discussions in relation to the pattern of the arrangement around the Tabernacle, and its prophetic connections as well as some other discussions regarding the character of YHWH in that HE is very organized and has a set pattern for us to follow.  Various other topics, great fellowship, great meal and a blessed time had by all.

Sabbath Shul May 20th, Jackson Location , 1:00-5:00PM Torah Parsha 32 BaHar 25:1-26:2  Haftarah Yirmeyahu 32:6-27 Brit Chadasha Luka 4:16-21, Galutyah 5:1-13  Torah Parsha 33BeChukkotai 26:3-27:34 Haftarah Yirmeyahu 16:19-17:14 Brit Chadasha Ephsiya 2: 11-19 The Portions dealt with the Land Sabbath , in that every seventh year the land is commanded to rest from the regular cycle of sowing and reaping. The redemption laws were also discussed in regards to property and how it is to be handled, especially the property of Levites and houses in cities in contrast to the houses in the country. Some periphery discussions regarding the 120 year span of time allotted to mankind , after the flood, and some Sod level understanding of how the earth's history may be segmented into 120 Jubilees, if indeed this is the case, the last  Jubilee is quickly upon us ushering in the last millennium.  The book "the Da Vinci Code," of which there is no little disturbance in  Churchdom, was discussed. The book review will be forthcoming.  Some discussions regarding the possibility that the covenants may have been progressing through various layers, each building upon another, rather than being all encompassing from the beginning as some might consider the covenant to be.  Farming methods and whether or not the land Sabbath was kept were considered along with the reading. Some discussion over why Levi was chosen to administer as priest, and the idea that perhaps there is a clue in the name itself, being "le'vi", as in "my heart" in Hebrew. Perhaps Levi most represented the heart of Yah? Some additional insight regarding the prophecies given to Levi and Simeon, as to why one was chosen of the lot of two.  Some final discussions on the spiritual cycles , perhaps even spiritual Jubilees that each generation can choose to partake of, all on Yah's time clock.

Sabbath Shul May 13nth, in Hillsdale, 1:00-5:00PM  Torah Parsha 31 Emor 21:1-24:23 Haftarah Yechezkel 44:15-31 Brit Chadasha Qolesayah 2:11-23 An Excellent Shul filled with varied and differing scriptural topics of which we discussed at length. One of those topics was the idea that the rapture was begun in the 1800's but that there was a figure that did relate it much earlier, in the Byzantine Church. This information is as follows - Ephraem the Syrian/Ephraem of Nisibis who said in 373 AD, "For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins." - In Ephraem's book The Book of the Cave of Treasures, written about 370 A.D.  We also discussed the some other issues like some Rabbis that do hold to the suffering servant teaching, although most of mainstream Judaism rejects even to read the chapter in Isaiah that speaks of it. Some other interesting comments and some grievously serious prayer requests. May Yah help those in need!  The Parsha was discussed lightly, and a wonderful meal and fellowship time ensued. We Thank Yah for all those people willing to host the Shul. May Yah bless them for their hospitality to the Kidushim.

Sabbath Shul May 6th, in Waldron, 1:00-5:00PM  Parsha 29 and 30  Torah Parsha 29 Acharei Mot 16:1-18:30 Haftarah Yeshayahu 53:1-12 Brit Chadasha Ivrim 7:23-10:25  Torah Parsha 30 Kedoshim 19:1-20:27 Haftarah Ahmos 9:7-15 Brit Chadasha Maaseh Shlichim 15:1-21   Leviticus 16-20 was discussed. Some phraseology was debated such as "cut off from among their people," and "he shall bear his iniquity."  The clear phrase is the statement that he shall be put to death, his blood shall be upon him can hardly be debated in its clarity, regarding violations of the commands given in Leviticus.  Another issue discussed the the notion of the sacrifice in 19:6 was to be eaten for two days, and be completely burned on the third floor. Some commentary on the reasons for this, perhaps lack of refrigeration. Swearing by Yah was discussed, and the negative noted, that no one should swear falsely. One comment was that this did not negate anyone from swearing truthfully thought. Interesting possibility. Some final comments regarding the prophecies of the regathering found in Jeremiah 31:31, in that it says "in that day," being interpreted in the future, the Torah shall be put in the minds and hearts. This day is not yet, as most of churchdom refuses to obey the commands or acknowledge them. Great meal of steak and veggies, and many extras. Special thanks to Yaacov for the hosting!
