STUDIES IN OCTOBER 06!
Yom Shabbat, October 28th, outside Hillsdale Location, 1:00-5:00PM Parsha 2 Genesis 6:9 - 11:32 Noah (rest) Yahoshua 12, Mattiyahu 12 great Shul with a good reading, and some discussions. The clean and unclean animal distinctions listed way back in Genesis/Bereshith were discussed. Promise in Bereshith not to destroy the earth again in the same manner as the flood. Some discussions of what was in Lew Whites new book where he outlines his view that Adam and Eve were black in color, and the races sprung out from that. After a week to consider some of the things that were brought out last time, we discussed again the facing east issue when reciting the Shema or in certain prayers and some other things that were discussed the last time we met. Rapture was discussed, and the truth that there will be some flying, but the Kidushim/Saints will return with Yahshua to rule and reign with him on the earth which is something that many people who talk about the rapture leave out, giving the impression that we fly off in to space. In the Haf-Torah, Yahoshua 12:3 there is the pagan etymological root of Ba'al Gad meaning literally "lord god." Some periphery discussions carried on after a great meal and fellowship.
Yom Shabbat, October 21st, Waldron Location, 1:00-5:00PM Parsha 1 Genesis 1:1 - 6:8 "in the beginning." Yahoshua 11, Mattiyahu 11. The beginning of the Parsha cycle with Parsha 1 and several discussions developed from this Parsha, as it was full of things that we could discuss. The comment was made that the first glimpse of the teaching of the Pharisees, insofar as their constant desire to add to the scriptures was seen in Bereshith where the statement was made that Adam and Eve were not supposed to "touch" the fruit, although the singular command was to not eat of it. Some comments on what is meant by the earth being "cursed, " after the fall. Some Sod allegorical ideas about how mankind is a type of the "dust" that the serpent, also known as the Lion that goes around devouring whom he can find, in a picture of the serpent lapping up the dust, that being mankind. Another idea was that mankind would , according to the lies of the serpent, "become like god," and the implications of what that really meant, in that they would then be found as having the capability of deviating from the will and plan of YHWH, even as HA SATAN has. A larger discussion revolved around the idea of facing east towards Jerusalem to recite the Shema or to pray. One brother suggested strongly that this was wrong because facing east was misused by pagan peoples. Some dissent with that reasoning. Some other ideas revolved around the two types of work that happen in the earth, that of herding and that of planting seeds in the ground. Some spiritual types of the kinds of work, and one suggesting that the planter of seeds is a spiritually useless endeavor, whilst the herder and husbandman of flocks is a "higher walk," which some of the Rabbis have suggested in their literature. Notion that Eve thought that she was having the promised Messiah when she had Cain, in her statement after giving birth was explored. There was some parallels with the regulations in the Torah of what happens when someone kills someone without meaning to and how Yah dealt with Cain when he killed Abel. This is seen in that Cain was banished, a curse was placed on anyone trying to kill him. A man-slayer is banished and sent to the city of refuge, and if anyone kill him while he is in banishment, they are themselves punished. Some additional discussions revolved around the Nephilim, serpent seed doctrines alternative ideas of Bereshith 6, Evolutionary teaching and the contrary that the scriptures teach of the devolving of the earth and creation, as well as some ideas of Rest and the Millennial period that will come upon the earth.
Yom Shabbat, October 14nth, Jackson Location 1:00-5:00PM Parsha 54 D'varim 33:1-34:12 "This is the Blessing" - Vezot Ha'bracha. Yahoshua 10, Mattiyahu 10. Excellent Shul in Jackson with several threads of discussions. The teaching being proposed by Bnai Yahshua Synagogues regarding the end time Eschatology and identification of the center of the beast power religious system that is prophesied to overtake the earth and be a scourge of death and destruction was discussed, whether it be the commonly understood Papal identification or whether it was Mecca, the center of the Islamic religion. Some other comments about the Aviv Barley calendar issues and some other reactions to the Rood Event teaching that most in the group attended. Signs in the heavens discussed, planet X, the notion of the earth being off kilter, and even degrading so much so that it will "reel to and fro" like a drunk man - The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth [Isa. 24:19-21]. The group also enjoyed a wonderful video performance of Sukkoth put on by the Olson clan that made us laugh and marvel at the same time. Following this was a piano performance put on by Heidi from the Olson clan that was well done. It is good to see the young people not only learning Torah but also becoming skilled in the musical arts. One sister brought up a very interesting piece of news from the middle east that they are drilling for oil in Israel, around the dead sea, and that there is some speculation on the part of prophecy teachers that this will be the valuable thing that is prophesied to be found in Eretz Israel , and that because of the land elevation descending DOWN into the dead sea, that when the Israelis strike oil, it will cause the oil reserves of the Arab nations to flow down to Israel underground, truly making Israel the HEAD and not the tail. Something interesting to consider indeed. More discussions on the transference of the lawgiving key from Judah to Gad, as one possibility proposed. Some light discussions of the haf-Torah and Brit Chadasha/New Testament portions.
